Established in Houston, Texas in September 2002, Tyrell, Inc. is a leading pioneer in an exciting new category of home based medical devices. The company was formed to develop and market ground-breaking new products, the first of which is Zeno™, a product set to revolutionize over-the-counter treatment of acne. Utilising proprietary ClearPoint™ Technology, this electronic medical device utilises precisely controlled heat to destroy the bacteria that causes common acne, dramatically reducing the healing time of spots.

ClearPoint technology was the brainchild of founder Robert Conrad and co-inventor Charles Conrad, M.D., brothers from a family of doctors and nurses, who together have a track record of starting successful life science companies. The creation of Tyrell, Inc. and the groundbreaking Zeno is a result of their sincere passion to provide a simple and effective solution for at-home acne treatment.

The Conrad brothers capitalised on the known processes of heat shock response and cellular apoptosis as the rationale for the ClearPoint technology. Years of testing and refinement led to the invention of the Zeno device and the establishment of an entirely new technology for dealing with skin lesions.

The breakthrough ClearPoint technology attracted the support of the Houston Technology Center (HTC) and the Houston Angel Network (HAN), a group of investors focused on funding the development of privately held companies. Together the HTC and HAN connected Tyrell with Walter V. (Wally) Klemp, president and CEO of Tyrell, Inc. Mr. Klemp is an established entrepreneur who has founded three companies, one of which became #1 on the INC 500 list of America 's Fastest Growing Companies. Mr. Klemp was so impressed with Zeno that he signed on to provide valuable leadership in a variety of areas including capital funding, intellectual property protection, and product development.

Tyrell's revolutionary ClearPoint technology was made possible in part with the help of the Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP), a program administered by the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership to help businesses apply technical expertise derived from the United States Space Program. SATOP contributed thermal engineering services with the assistance of The Boeing Company and a new technology was born.
